MDM
The government of India initiated the national programme of nutritional support to primary education on 15 Aug 1995. The objective of the scheme is to help to improve the effectiveness of primary education by improving the nutritional status of primary school children.
Three advantages of Mid-day meals –
- Satisfies the hunger of many children.
- Supplies nutritious food to poor children which helps them to concentrate to studies better.
- Students come to governments schools daily and get rid of do labour work.
Starting in Rajasthan of Mid-day Meal :-
Government of Rajasthan started providing cooked meal to the children in schools under the mid-day meal programme from July 2002 in the beginning govt. of Rajasthan provided MDM from its own state budgetary resources.
